The Buzz Lightyear Gloves are good… with a caveat. The thing is, they’re advertised as “one size fits most”, and aimed at children. Yet, the size and length (16″ long, just the wrist to fingertip is 7 1/2″) is really more suitable to adults. Just out of curiousity, I measured my own wrist to fingertip size, and my hand is 7 1/2″! I’m an average adult male. I play the piano and can just barely reach an octave plus 2 white keys, so that gives you kind of a size comparison.
Customer reviews rate the gloves pretty well for design, and mostly well for durability. They fade with washing, so clean with caution. But the big complaint is size. These just aren’t the right size for small children.
That said, ask the kids if it matters. Most of them would rather have too-big Buzz Lightyear Gloves than not to have them at all. From 2-year-old toddlers, on up, the children love them even if they don’t fit well.
As far as looks go, the gloves are right on target. Right colors, they have the ‘Buzz’ feel, and even the laser button is printed onto the gloves. They are 100% polyester, so will be thin. I would not consider them a standard toy; more like a special event costume accessory. They’ll last better that way… or you could just let the children wear them out and enjoy it while it lasts!
Final thoughts: Personal judgement call. If a good fit is most important, skip it. (Unless they’re for an adult.) If plain old fun counts, for the price it’s hard to go too wrong.
